BIO

Education

I began working in clay at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio where I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts. My ceramic education continued as an Apprentice for Kaleidoscope Pottery in Easthampton, Massachusetts and I went on to earn my Master's degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Exhibition

I exhibit my vessels nationally including: Cuptopia ArtStream Nomadic Gallery Carbondale, Colorado, Figuratively Speaking Companion Gallery Humboldt, Tennessee, Yunomi Invitational AKAR Iowa City, Iowa and Cupling Simple Cup Invitational KOBO Seattle, Washington.

Statement

I throw porcelain forms that reference the quiet landscape of my youth, and as a runner, moving within that landscape is equally important to the content of my pots.

Residency

Residencies allow for full exploration of specific ideas. I have been invited to and accepted at multiple residencies including: Artist in Residence at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Short Term Artist Residency and Artist Invites Artists Residencies at Red Lodge Clay Center, Distinguished Fellow at The Hambidge Center for Creative Arts and Sciences and James Rosenquist Artist Residency.

Representation

My work is represented by Companion Gallery, a CERAMIC art gallery in Humboldt, Tennessee. The gallery states, β€œThe idea of representing an artist is important to us. That means displaying your work in the best light possible, both in the gallery as well as online. That means speaking for you and your work, informing collectors, and educating the public.”
